PADI Open Water Course & Junior Open Water Course

We run two different PADI Open Water Course; 3 Day & 5 day Course.

 

1. 3 day course is designed for the fast-paced, water-friendly; self-learner who is happy to study online before the course starts.

2. The 5 day course is designed for students who prefer classroom-style learning.

The course consists of 3 sections: -
 

1. Theory

The student watches videos and completes quizzes online using PADI e-learning system whilst at home. Their Instructor checks progress and understanding of the material before the start of the course.
 

2. Pool Training

One-day scuba diving in the pool learning and developing scuba diving skills. Students will learn how to assemble and disassemble equipment; scuba diving breathing techniques; buoyancy control, safety drills; what to do in low and out of air procedures & buddy system procedures.
 

3. Open Water Dives

4 dives over two days in Open Water with your Instructor.

During each dive, the students will be asked to perform skills they have learned during the pool session as well as learning a couple of new skills too; for example - compass navigation, inflating a surface marker buoy. The Instructor will leave plenty of time for the students to experience the incredible underwater life at either Shelly Beach; Manly or Chowder Bay; Mosman.

For younger teens especially, this course is great. The theory is all taught directly by the instructor, there are at least three pool training sessions where students get a chance to play and have fun as well as master the important skills required for the course; by the time they are ready to head to Open Water, they are excited and know they are ready.

The course consists of 3 sections: -
 

1. Theory

All theory is completed with the Instructor face to face over the during 3 days of the course. 
 

2. Pool Training

Over the first three days of the course, the students have multiple sessions in the pool learning all the skills required for the course as well lots of time to practice and have fun playing underwater.
 

3. Open Water Dives

4 dives over two days in Open Water with your Instructor.

During each dive, the students will be asked to perform skills they have learned during the pool session as well as learning a couple of new skills too; for example - compass navigation, inflating a surface marker buoy. The Instructor will leave plenty of time for the students to experience the incredible underwater life at either Shelly Beach; Manly or Chowder Bay; Mosman.

PADI Pack including manual: $135.00 per person

Price Includes; PADI Open Water Diver Manual, RDP Table, Metric, Booklet - RDP Instructions for use, Logbook, Certificate of Recognition, Decal, Brochure (Keep Diving), Crew-Pak bag.

Wetsuit

A wetsuit is required for all courses.

For courses from November to March minimum of a 5mm full diving wetsuit is required for courses from March to November an 8mm full scuba diving wetsuit is needed.

We also recommend but it is not required full foot fins, neoprene booties, and a scuba diving hood. 

Booking

To secure your place on one of our courses; we first need to have a copy of the first page of the medical statement returned via email and then a deposit of $200 per student.

Medical

There are some medical conditions that need to be checked and cleared by a doctor before you can participate in any scuba diving activities. To save disappointment it is important that you check the Medical Form prior to booking onto the course. 

COVID Information

We follow strict COVID guidelines for scuba diving.

All equipment is sterilized after every use.

No equipment sharing is allowed - students use the same equipment for the whole day

Maximum class size of 4 students 

 Students must bring their own food and drinks for the day 

Hand sanitizer will be provided
