Amanda Carroll - PADI Instructor
My scuba diving adventures started in 1995 whilst backpacking around Australia when I landed a job as a cook on a scuba diving liveaboard boat. From my first breath underwater, it was life-changing; I knew it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I quickly worked my way up the scuba diving ladder to become a PADI Instructor a year later in Thailand. I spent ten years working as PADI Scuba Diving Instructor in some incredible locations ranging from; The Maldives, Caribbean, Egypt, Europe, South America until finally settling in Sydney, Australia with my husband and two kids. Diving with my kids is always special and so much fun; I wanted other families to be able to have the same opportunities and so ICFish was born.
I'm also fascinated by sharks and turtles and have been lucky to dive with many different species and share my knowledge and experiences with other divers. Introducing people to the underwater world will always be incredibly special, watching their faces when they take their first breaths underwater and realize how simple it is - brilliant! But then....guiding them through their first real underwater experiences is always an honor. That's why I teach diving. Kids diving has been a natural progression as I'm also a mum; I can see how scuba diving is so good for them. The calming natural effect of breathing underwater on SCUBA, (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus), the life experience, the lack of technology - a bonus!
ICFish is a place where I teach scuba diving in small groups with a focus on safety, fun, and experience resulting in opening up years of underwater family adventures.
